International Year of Millets 2023 – a Year Long Celebration Focused on Millets and Their Multi-Beneficial Role in a Global Society
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations has declared 2023 the International Year of Millets (IYM 2023). Focusing the year on these important crops affords the opportunity to direct attention to the nutritional and health benefits of millets, as well as promote policy initiatives and highlight the sustainability of millets. The role millets can play in reducing hunger and increasing jobs and economic growth worldwide will also be promoted.
