CSI Seminar Haley Butler, Mar 25 at 11 AM CT

The Center for Sorghum Improvement (CSI) is hosting a virtual seminar given by Haley Butler, from the Peanut and Small Grains Research Unit at the USDA-ARS, on Tuesday, March 25 at 11 AM CT.  The title of the talk is “Improving integrated pest management for chinch bug (Blissus leucopterus) in grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) agroecosystems of the Southern Plains.” Dr. Butler will present her team’s research on the chinch bug (Blissus leucopterus), a native and major pest of small grains in the Southern Plains. The study involves field population monitoring, developing a laboratory rearing protocol, and assessing sorghum hybrids for resistance to chinch bugs.For information on this and future seminars visit the CSI seminar webpage.
